About J.M. Auron, ACRW—Your Partner in Advancing Your IT Career

I’m J.M. Auron, Academy Certified Resume Writer (ACRW), and I’ve been helping IT professionals advance their careers for over 15 years.

How (and Why) I Became an IT Resume Writer

It started simply enough. My then-wife, a developer, wasn’t getting interviews. I'd always been a good writer, so I wrote her resume. Suddenly, she was getting calls—and compliments on how strong the IT resume I'd written was. That sparked something. I’d always loved writing and making connections (people or ideas), so I began helping others with their resumes.

A stint as a headhunter deepened my understanding of what actually works. I loved the “aha” moments when a candidate was perfect for a role—but hated the pressure to force a fit just to close the deal. But there was a lot of value; my experience as a headhunter showed me clearly how recruiters and hiring managers read resumes: a quick scan first, then a deeper dive to see if the story holds up.

So I transitioned to full-time IT resume writing. After earning the rigorous ACRW certification from the Resume Writing Academy—one of the industry’s most demanding credentials—I founded Quantum Tech Resumes in 2010.

Why I Focus Exclusively on IT & Technology Careers

I’ve written for professionals in almost every field, but IT drew me in—and kept me interested. I enjoy the analytic mindset of tech professionals, the constant evolution of the field, and the unique challenges of translating complex technical contributions into clear business language.

Honestly? most resume writers avoid IT resumes because of the difficulty and complexity—which is why I specialize in them. I write IT resumes from developers and architects to IT managers, directors, and C-level executives (CIO/CTO/CISO). That breadth lets me see the full career stack and help clients chart realistic paths to their next level, whether that's big tech or meaningful work in a smaller organization.

My Approach: Craftsmanship Over Volume

I'm a one-person shop (with a proofreader for polish). Every project is mine from start to finish—no subcontracting, no AI, no worksheets. I gather everything through in-depth interviews (my clients do little to no homework).

I'm a craftsman in everything I write. That means I'll sweat strategy, word choice, flow—even punctuation. The result? A document that's not just an ATS-optimized resume, but one that's compelling to human readers—the ones who actually make hiring decisions.

I don't ask my clients to fill out worksheets or questionnaires—everything comes from an in-depth interview. That gives me the data I need—but clients often tell me the process itself brings clarity. As one client said, "J.M., I’ve never seen my career so clearly before."

Results That Matter

I've helped clients land roles at Google, Siemens, Meta, and countless other firms—from industry leaders to SMBs—even in tough markets. More importantly, I've helped them move from draining jobs to fulfilling ones, negotiate significant raises, or pivot into leadership.

A Personal Note

My name is actually John-Michael, but a colleague at a recruiting firm started calling me "J.M." It stuck (obviously)
